Minutes of Meeting - Seagull Singapore User Meeting 03.03.10

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The 8th Users’ meeting, a half day event was held at the Amara Hotel, Singapore and was a great success. On the
day of the event 74 guests representing 29 companies arrived to grace the occasion.

The theme of the seminar was MLC 2006 and quite naturally the subject was dealt with extensively by our two guest speakers Mr Tanubrata of DNV Singapore and Mr. Yeow Kok Kean of NSSPL/APL  both of whom we offer our sincere appreciation for sharing their experience and insight.

Mr. Tanubrata spoke on “Working Toward Compliance” and focused on regulatory and compliance issues from the RO’s perspective.

Mr Yeow’s topic was “Implementation & Challenges, Shipmanagement Perspective”  He touched on  issues concerning regulatory  compliance of crew welfare, their rest hours against overtime claimed by seafarer to avoid conflict of actual rest hours on board ship as stipulated by the convention. Pay structure/scale and proper training for designated job.

Our very own Mr. Roger Ringstad, Managing Director introduced our latest product the Seagull Training Administrator Online (STA Online) which offers a very useful training  reporting, access of CBT training titles, and Competence manager, as well as our latest seafarer Knowledge Assessment (CES 5.0) all on-line.  The response from the participants was very positive and valuable feedbacks were received.  Many felt that the flexibility will be very useful to their crews.

The Q & A session at the end of the meeting was very well participated, with the respective speakers and guests engaged in various related topics of the day.

The meeting was declared closed at about 1.15pm by
Mr Lim Soo Hock, Managing Director, Singapore who also delivered the Opening Speech at the commencement of
the event.
