Seagull/NewsLink User Meeting 12.05.2010
Dear Friend and Colleagues,
The annual Users‘ meeting, an evening event, was held at the Mediterranean Beach Hotel in Cyprus and was a great success.
Various topics were discussed including news from both Seagull and NewsLink.
Especially would we like to thank our guest speakers, Dr. Peter Swift – Managing Director of Intertanko, Capt. Kuba Szymanski - Secretary General Elect of InterManger and Capt Rene Dzicki from Intership / Hartman group.
Dr. Peter Swift held an interesting presentation about “Year of the Seafarer – Does anyone care?” touching several topics as: Criminalization and Fair treatment, easing the burden, life at sea, ensuring welfare onboard.
Capt. Kuba Szymanski reached out to the audience with his strong enthusiasm about the ongoing KPI project.
Capt. Rene Dzicki presented Internships’ experience with NewsLink services, which we definitely can say was positive. Out of 175 vessels receiving the daily news from NewsLink, only two vessels had negative remarks. The rest will like to see the service onboard in the future as a very nice contribution to seafarer’s welfare.
Mr. Dan Gunnar Hugvik, Area Sales Manager, introduced our latest product including the Seagull Training Administrator Online (STA Online) which offers a very useful training reporting, access of CBT training titles, and Competence manager, as well as our latest seafarer Knowledge Assessment (CES 5.0) all on-line. The response from the participants was positive and valuable feedbacks were received. Many felt that the flexibility will be very useful to their crews.
Capt. Lance Savaria, Director of Sales, presented our service of Company Specific CBTs. This service will make your company able to have tailored made CBTs for your company needs, covering every topic you feel important for your company.
Mr. George Hoyt, NewsLink/Face Of Shipping held the opening speech, presented latest news from NewsLink and also declared meeting closed at 9.00 pm.
