Seagull’s “ECDIS onboard training course” has received DNV SeaSkill approval.

For those customers who already have CBT modules # 26, 59 and 64, the required procedures and workbook can be downloaded from our web site: http://www.seagull.no/seagullweb/products/oc/index.aspx  - or it may be found on CD#C1 version 1.12.

The course includes; an introduction to ECDIS, chart accuracy, route planning and evaluation, plus the practical use of ECDIS. The included practical exercises are designed to improve the working knowledge of onboard ECDIS system components, such as the alarm & warnings, steering system and system limitations and functionality. The exercises are generic and equally relevant for different EDCIS manufacturers and models. 
After submission of the completed course work, an ECDIS ‘Certificate of Competence’ will be issued to successful participants. To receive this certificate, the CBT training report, answers to the practical questions and completed practical exercise documentation must be submitted to Seagull for evaluation and certification.
