Seagull Registers 20,000th Course Certificate

On October 20, 2008, Sergey Komarchev of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement, Germany, received a certificate of competence for Seagull’s onboard ECDIS Computer-Based Training (CBT) course. In doing so, Sergey Komarchev received the 20,000th course certification issued to a seafarer using Seagull’s classroom courses or Seagull’s onboard training courses.

Seagull’s industry leading onboard training courses have been designed to make cost-effective seafarer training available at all times. The onboard solution is particularly effective because seafarers can source crewmates, junior and senior officers and the ship itself as training tools to practice the exercises described in the workbook.

At present, Seagull has a range of 12 onboard courses which combine CBT with a procedure and workbook. Users can download the latest versions of the procedure and workbook for each course. Seagull is unique in offering an approved set of STCW courses as well as the most comprehensive set of job task-related courses in its curriculum, known as "The Seagull Onboard Library".

Seagull remains focused on providing certification and job proficiency training to seafarers in the classroom, at home and at sea. Seagull helps owners ensure regulatory compliance through provision of comprehensive training records systems and competency evaluation tools. Today, Seagull is the leading developer and provider of CBT programs for onboard training of seafarers. The 20,000th certificate milestone is recognition of the quality our programs and support services.
