The Competence Manager is a feature of the Seagull Training Administrator and effectively specifies complete competency profiles for every position onboard the ship. This provides the seafarer with a simple and efficient competency development and career planning tool to identify promotional requirements and motivate progression. The Competence Management section includes an editor which allows your Company to define Company Specific Competence Requirements.
Seagull has developed a series of competency definitions for various ship types that can be used as the foundation for your own company’s competence and career management system requirements. These competency definitions have been derived using the ISF (training record books), SIGGTO (competency guidelines) and in cooperation with several shipping companies to ensure that they include the appropriate requirements for a particular vessel type. Seagull has also reached an agreement with INTERTANKO to provide the TOTS system electronically (E-TOTS). The individual officers’ Training Record Book is held in electronic format in our Competence Management software.
The Seagull Training Administrator not only defines the competency profiles but also manages the competency training and assessment activities for individual seafarers, including tracking them from ship to ship.
